It is not everyone who wishes a grand affair with 100 plus guests. In fact many ceremonies undertaken at the Priests House are relatively small, in fact some are even for just the couple themselves with Debbie and Mark being the witnesses!
This is no doubt the extreme, but if you do want a truly small, intimate and exclusive wedding, then The Priests House is your ideal venue. Located in North Yorkshire, equidistant between Grassington, Ilkley and Skipton, it is well away from the maddening crowds. The drive to this part of the Yorkshire Dales is both beautiful and stunning, surrounded by fabulous hills and moorland, a real country retreat. In fact if you also use the accompanying Barden bunk barn as either accommodation (sleeps 24) or for a quiet evening get together, then you have exclusive use of the whole site for the day - no logistical issues to be concerned with and no worries about drink driving.
We don’t insist on you having your ceremony and reception with us. Some couples choose a “ceremony only” with perhaps a drink and some canapé’s after the ceremony.. Others may prefer a church or Registry Office ceremony and then come to us for the wedding breakfast or reception.

The Priests House is as its name suggests, a former 15th century chapel and living quarters for the resident clergy. With the open fires, wooden beams and lattice windows, it breaths nostalgia and history. Having a maximum dining capacity of 34 it is absolutely ideal for the smaller weddings, providing a truly unique and private setting. We only ever undertake one wedding on any day and thus you will have our undivided attention throughout.
Clearly, we do limit the number of ceremony only and very small weddings at weekends, especially in the busy summer months, but welcome at all other times.
